A Poem for a Pickle has a large amount of cute, funny poems for young children. Many of the poems are silly and would definitely make some children laugh. I liked the use of rhyme in the poems throughout this book. Each poem had a sing-song rhyme, and that makes it fun and memorable for young children. This is definitely a book a teacher can use in the classroom to make a memorable experience for the students while teaching poetry. ( ) " A Poem for a Pickle" is a book filled with poetry and all of them are meant to be funny. They have some that have repetitive words in them and some are meant to be sung. There is even one wrote at the tune of old smokey. The poem that I sung in my head while reading was "1,2,3", because each word in the poem at the end of each sentence is repeated three times. Another poem that is clever is " Brother Pete". It is about a boy who will only eat anything sweet and it is very relatable to anyone who has a younger brother, which i do have. I think all the poems in the book can be quite relatable and it is a great book for introducing children to poetry. A Poem for a Pickle is a book of funny poems. They are a good introduction to what poetry is. The poems in this book show examples of different poetic elements including: rhyming couplets, repeated words, alliteration (“four hundred and forty-four flies”), onomatopoeia (“pitter patter, splitter splatter, skitter scatter”), and rhyming words. One poem, called “The Ice Cream Fountain Mountain,” talks about different flavors of ice cream including orange ice pizza and barefooted grape. Another poem is written to be read to the tune of “On Top of Old Smokey.” The illustrations in this book are simple, but colorful, and depict what is happening in each poem. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
