A caterer discovers a body of a student at school she is catering function for and must find out who would want their child to succeed bad enough in college placement to stoop to murder. Goody Bear, caterer, is in the midst of her busy season. Her son, Arch, is having trouble at his private Prep school (paid for by his Dad, Goly’s ex). Julian Tellar, currently staying at Goldy’s home, is a Senior at the prep school. He is also the Salutatorian. While catering a college informational meeting on snowy night, Goldy stumbles upon a very dead Validictorian. Goldy’s boyfriend, Detective Schulz, is on the case. The murder, really stresses out the staff, students and parents of Elk Park Prep. Parents are pushing their kids to get in Ivy League schools. Julian wants to go to Culinary school, but is stressed by the SAT tests and the need for scholarships. Goldy and Schulz are on the case. Something is really wrong at Elk Park Prep. It was a good read with humor, action and fun recipes. Goldy can not seem to stay out of trouble. Rich people who think they can run over the little people, parents who will do anything so their precious child can get ahead , throw in two murdered people (which Goldy finds) and one has the recipe for an outstanding book. . This time the location is the prep school that Julian (her boarder) and son attend. I am so glad that Julian played a important role in this book.
