In a world peopled by Artificial Intelligences, where the Primes of the Overclass rule through greed and deception, the two co-rulers play a game of virtual reality to the death seeking ultimate power. Their pawn, Caliban, is sent on a quest to find his heart, with the help of a girl called Corby. Only by doing this will he survive to the end of the game.A remarkably different science fiction/fantasy novel that is a good read.
