O romance, um clássico de Goethe, é uma ótima leitura, que traz à tona a imaginação, já que boa parte dos termos utilizados e costumes descritos estarem ultrapassados, já que foi escrito no século XVIII.
Interessante notar como o livro influenciou diversos autores após sua publicação, inclusive o brasileiro Machado de Assis, sendo possível traçar um paralelo entre Werther e alguns personagens machadianos como Rubião. (
