Which is what I want. ( ) Review: This chapter of Tom's quest to free the creatures of Avantia, him and Elenna travel to a coastal village where the sea serpent Sepron has been wreaking havoc. It is up to Tom and Elenna to free Sepron and save the small fishing town from further distruction. Critique: Overall, this book is a pretty good fantasy because it involves mythical creatures, such as Sepron, that are under the influences of a magical curse. Additionally, the simple plot makes this book makes it a good early chapter book because it is understandable for young readers. Personally, the characters in the book are slightly underdeveloped since the book tends to put most of its emphasis on action. Use: 1. This would be a good book to have a classroom library because it appeals to young readers who are interested in creatures and adventure novels. 2. Another way to use this book in a classroom, would be to teach a small unit on the hero's journey, and have students try to figure out which part of the hero's journey Tom is on in this part of the series. "One boy's journey to help his village becomes a quest to save the kingdom. Floods. Starvation. Fear. This is what awaits the people of Avantia's coast if Tom and Elenna cannot stop Sepron the Sea Serpent. The huge and terrifying beast lurks in eerie waters. All the fish have fled and no boats dare to pass. Tom and Elenna head to the coast, where things are worse than they even imagined. As they set off in a rickety rowboat, Tom can't help but wonder if they'll succeed so easily this time."--P. [4] of cover. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
