This series is connected mainly by the location of where the stories take place as well as the main characters working in law enforcement. The series starts with Standoff, followed by Obsession, Crosshairs then Deception. I haven’t read the fourth book yet but that is next in my TBR pile. These are stories you don’t want to miss!
In Crosshairs, ISB Ainsley Beaumont has returned to her hometown of Natchez, Mississippi. Her last case in East Tennessee was rough so she is taking some time off to decompress and visit her grandmother. Ainsley’s grandmother and sister, Cora, live across the street from each other and have done so for years. So, the area and neighbors are very familiar to Ainsley but there is danger in the air from different directions. Ainsley must help solve the murder of a local high school student while dodging the constant threats to her life.
To complicate matters, her past is rushing up to meet her when Lincoln Steele, a former romantic interest, is tasked with helping protect Ainsley. Lincoln has his own issues that he must face and overcome if he is going to be successful in protecting Ainsley and rekindling their love. In a well-woven tale of mystery, murder and mayhem, Patricia Bradley takes readers back to Mississippi where it’s hot, humid and deadly!
One of the most enjoyable aspects of the story is the close relationship Ainsley’s grandmother shares with her sister Cora. Cora is writing a book, hoping to uncover a past mistake from diaries recently discovered. Ainsley is in the crosshairs of a man who sees her as responsible for his imprisonment, and he is willing to go to great lengths to achieve his goal. I enjoyed the multiple mysteries that were going on, and the ending was a touch of brilliance! I was intrigued and captivated by the book from start to finish, and the tension was palpable! Don’t miss this exciting read!

Suspenseful. Intrigue. Mystery. Murder. That is just the beginning of what this brings to the reader. Ainsley Beaumont is a moving target. But why? And in the process discovers love. ( )

This story is infused with excitement and mysterious shooters. There is the involvement of escaped convicts, marijuana, missing historical diaries, murders past and present, and a whole lot more.

Set in the humid, sweltering heat of Mississippi that only a true southerner can comprehend, the rangers race from one scene to another trying to ferret out the guilty culprits. A bit of past romance that begins to take root again adds a sweetness to the story.

Totally clean Christian read that still stokes the reader's imagination and interest.

Ms. Bradley has a gift of painting a picture with words. Ainsley is just the right character, she is back in town for work and meets up with Lincoln, who she had a very close relationship . Her Aunt and Grandmother live in Natchez, Mississippi along with her father who she has a strained relationship with. There is a murder hunting Ainsley for putting in him in jail and another thief who would stop at nothing to get the journals that Ainsley’s Aunt uncovered. It was an intense ride trying to figure out. I saw that the next installment is Deception released 08/02/22. ( )
