Fiction. Romance. Christian Fiction. HTML:

The problem with being related to everyone in town is that there is no one left to date...until now. But will this outsider survive his family?

Former soldier Veronica "Ronnie" Morales isn't going to let her kid brother, Tiago, get pulled into the gangs of Minneapolis, so, seeking safety and a fresh start, she heads to sleepy Deep Haven on the north shore of Minnesota. She's hoping to put down roots as the paramedic for the new Crisis Response Team, but it's not easy to be the town outsider.

Fire Chief Peter Dahlquist is a peacemaker-he has to be. After all, he's related to both of the Deep Haven dynasties-the Zimmermans and the Dahlquists, Deep Haven's version of the Hatfields and the McCoys. Worse, Peter is the holdout vote for a landmark project, which also makes him the loneliest guy in town when both families demand that he pick sides. The only one who seems to understand his plight is the newcomer in town...his pretty, street-tough paramedic.

When Tiago finds himself caught up in small town shenanigans and the town blames Ronnie for tragedy, Peter is forced to pick sides. But will his choice cost him the home-and the woman-he loves?

"Crazy for You" is my favorite book in the Deep Haven Collection so far!

Peter Dahlquist is a hero who made me love the story even more. He's the sweetest guy and I felt so bad for him at times but I loved him too.

Ronnie wasn't a heroine I loved as I kind of felt her character was one I personally didn't get along with, however, I loved her character by the end of the book.

I loved the way Peter grew, Ronnie healed, and Tiago stole my heart.

Content: romantic attractions/possibly kisses, I don't remember, lol, but I don't think there was anything that made me blink or cringe.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book which I received from the author. All views expressed are only my honest opinion. ( )

Crazy for You, by Susan May Warren and Michelle Sass Aleckson, is book three in the Deep Haven Collection series. This is a well written story with strong characters. Ronnie is a strong ex-military female who is struggling with providing for herself and younger brother and adjusting to civilian life. She is forced to adjust the way she reacts in tough situations to gain the trust of others. Peter is stuck between two strong feuding families and no matter what decision he makes, he will make someone upset. As the local fire chief he is now working with Ronnie, who forces him to make tough decisions before he feels comfortable.
I just love this series. I enjoy the strength of the characters and the care they extend to others. I enjoy going back to a familiar setting and catching up with characters from the previous stories. I enjoy reading of how the characters turn to their faith. I liked the character of Peter. He is in a very tough position between his two families and still finds a way to work for the good of the town. I enjoyed how he was there for Ronnie and her brother even when it meant standing up to his family.
I received a complimentary copy of this story, this is my honest review. ( )

The next book in The Deep Haven collection has arrived, and this opposites-attract romance is a fantastic addition to the series.

Susan May Warren returns and Michelle Sass Aleckson makes her author debut with roots sunk deep into the community of Deep Haven through Peter, who is distantly related to pretty much every person in town. Peter spends his life as the peacemaker, insistent on not ruffling any feathers. So, when Ronnie, a woman who is blunt and brusque, moves to town with his brother and their mutual friend asks Peter to smooth the waters, it’s a challenge Peter wonders if he’s up to.

I enjoyed how much Ronnie and Peter both challenged and complemented each other. Ronnie pushes Peter to stand up for himself and what he believes in while Peter tempers some of Ronnie’s forthrightness. And it was a great to see how the critical response team has come together since the first book as well as get a peek at the inner workings and division (in a few different areas) among the residents of Deep Haven.

While reading Crazy for You, I found some new favorite characters I hope will get the spotlight in the remaining books (and yes, I looked them up, and yes, they do!). This series has been a fun and refreshing way to return to a beloved setting (with some cameos by beloved characters) as well as get to know some brand new authors.

Disclosure statement: I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions are my own. ( )

CRAZY FOR YOU is the third offering from Sunrise Publishing and I snagged an advance reader copy. It will release Tuesday, May 25. It can be pre-ordered right now for $4.99, and the price will go up once it’s released, so grab it now!

Deep Haven Fire Chief Pete Dahlquist is related to half of Deep Haven. Which makes dating difficult. And all sides of the family want something different from him.

Former military paramedic Ronnie Morales is new to town and needs to keep her job with the newly formed Crisis Response Team. She moved to Deep Haven to get her little brother out of the big city and away from the friends and trouble he was drawn toward.

Sparks (both the good and the bad kind) fly when Pete and Ronnie meet. When tragedy strikes, sides are taken and lines are drawn. Both Pete and Ronnie have to learn hard lessons about forgiveness and humility.

Michelle Sass Aleckson has captured Susan May Warren’s characters, setting, and voice in a wonderful addition to the Deep Haven canon. I loved everything in this story. From Pete’s dilemma of choosing his family or his town to Ronnie having to dial back her intensity to show the people of Deep Haven that she can fit in.

I highly recommend CRAZY FOR YOU! ( )

"He wants us to experience life with Him inside us. He wants to carry us through the hardships. Join in our celebrations. Hold us when we're hurting."

It's another worthwhile trip to Deep Haven with the debut author Michelle Sass Aleckson. I'm a relative newbie to the town of Deep Haven so I was unaware of the simmering tension between the Dahlquist and Zimmerman families. Their squabble and misbehavior actually made Deep Haven feel more real and down-to-earth and not quite so Mayberry-like. Caught between the two families is Peter, a fire chief, city councilman, and biologically a Zimmerman and adopted as a Dahlquist. When Ronnie moves into town with her brother Tiago, their work in the Crisis Response Team draws them together and sparks fly from their first encounter. Peter reminded me a bit of Sam from Susie May Warren's Montana Rescue series and the overarching theme in this series of putting together a Crisis Response Team in their remote area was also reminiscent of the Montana Rescue series.

Peter is dependable, loyal, steady, loving, devoted to family, and incredibly sweet and naive but also indecisive. I loved his peace-keeping soul and his desire to love everyone to his fullest capacity. He's definitely a hero on my 'keeper' list. Ronnie is headstrong, stubborn, blunt bordering on rude, but does have a soft heart underneath the armor she's built because of her past. Her prickly attitude and behavior wasn't endearing at first but she grew on me as the story unfolded. Peter's embodiment of God's unconditional love is pretty amazing. I really enjoyed seeing Cole, Megan, Adrian, and Ella from the first two books and fell in love with some of Peter's cousins whom I hope we will see more of soon.

Fans of contemporary romance will absolutely love this book. I received the book from the publisher and was under no obligation to post a positive comment. All opinions are solely my own. ( )
