Then the weapons of the vacationing gods start showing up around town. The only plus to all of this is it distracts Delany from having to plan her wedding because everyone wants to come to it and help with it. This keeps building on the coming demon war that will be in a future book. ( ) There’s something special about Ordinary The three Reid sisters, Delaney, Myra and Jean, take care of the gods’ vacation town and its multifarious inhabitants, both as the local police force and through their various family gifts. Delaney is the bridge that allows the gods to put their powers into safe storage and live as mortals (mostly). Myra’s gift is to be always where and when she is most needed. Jean’s is to sense the approach of serious danger. But there is always something strange happening and it is hard work keeping the mortal residents in ignorance of the true natures of their friends and neighbours. This eighth book in the series begins with Delaney in a panic because she can’t face planning her wedding to her childhood sweetheart Ryder, rushing to the beach where her sisters have witnessed a car fall from the sky. It is the start of a whole series of strange goings-on. Many of the regular characters appear, including Bertie, the fearsome valkyrie and dreaded organiser of Ordinary’s fundraising/tourist events, and two of my favourites: Crow, the trickster god, and ‘Than’, or Thanatos, the god of death. The books are a lot of fun and I have enjoyed all of this series hugely. I recommend reading them in order, to appreciate the developing stories and characters. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha

HTML: Police Chief Delaney Reed can handle supernatural disasters. With gods vacationing in her little town of Ordinary, Oregon, and monsters living alongside humans, she's had plenty of practice. But trying to handle something so normal, so average, so very ordinary as planning her own wedding to the man she loves? Delaney is totally out of her depth. When a car falls out of the sky and lands on the beach, Delaney is more than happy to push guest lists and venue dates out of her mind. The car appears empty, but someone has slipped into Ordinary with stolen weapons from the gods. Someone who has the ability to look like any god, monster, or human in town. Someone who might set off a supernatural disaster even Delaney can't handle. .Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
