Two young guys Johnny and Goat hate their dead-end jobs and figure that’s all to life until they decide to rob the place they work at to help save the laundromat that Johnny’s brother Arty works at. The laundromat is all Arty know as that’s all he does and is very good at. He is also I believe autistic and depends on Johnny since their mother is a drunk (mentioned). It is a quick read that doesn’t really develop the characters and the plot easy to figure out. It could have been more but entertaining. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
"A powerful novel of brotherhood and the search for happiness from #1 New York Times bestselling author, Jocko Willink. Johnny is stuck-living at home and watching after his brother while working as a stock boy is not what he dreamed about. But when he and his best friend, Goat, see an opportunity to break free of the monotony and take care of Johnny's brother all in one shot, they jump on it. Now they're on the run and about to find out the price for freedom. A moving and fast-paced thriller, Final Spin is a gripping exploration into brotherhood and sacrifice-straight from the dark heart of America"-- Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |

The essential positive is the book is a quick read. The structure of the writing is bizarre, the font is difficult to look at, and the story and characters are highly unlikely. I'm aware that Jocko is an accomplished non-fiction author, and this is his first fiction novel, but it felt kind of amateurish and I don't think I grasped the point as it was advertised to me. I'll say it's decent for a quick day read.
Thanks to Jocko Willink and St. Martin's Press for the advanced review copy in exchange for an honest review. ( )
