An immediate sequel to Tedric (note that this is quite different from the novel of the same name, written by another author using this as a jumping-off point). The time traveler discovers that his meddling has split time, and while he goes back to the future it's not _his_ future - in fact, he's already there. So his solution is to murder his alternate and take over, and keep on meddling to improve the future of the timeline. He studies what the new timeline knows happened, then goes back to Tedric and supports him, and his king, through a war of...well, offensive defense. Go take their city before they come invade ours... Still very pulpy, only a little longer than the first story, and like it pleasant to read once but I'm not much interested in a reread. I quite like Tedric, the time traveler is rather nasty (amoral). He believes he's working for the good of the future, and doesn't care what he does to make that happen. ( )
