The first time I read this book, I was 15 years old and I adored it. For years, I named it as my favourite book. In my memory, it must have taken on epic proportions because the second time I read it, I was very disappointed. Four years had passed and when reading this book again, I couldn't understand what had appealed to me so much. I didn't like the characters at all and thought the main character to be a bit of a whiny bore. After Barry dies, his boyfriend Hal is arrested when he is found dancing on Barry's grave. Coming-of-age story about how love can be all-permeating for teenagers and about how its idealized image can make a person blind. Unlike many YA novel, this one is almost exclusively for YA readers - the philosophizing about death and love are much too simplistic for adults. The cinematic format with scenes from different angles and retakes of important moments, however, would interest all readers, regardless of age. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
