Hmm. Excellent story, of course - interesting opponent, some new bits of history from multiple wolves, a serious threat. But it seems to have been concluded, which makes the whole thing minor - except for the aftereffects. Coyote is going to cause trouble (well, that was redundant), and I really want to see Leah after all this. And the last chapter...that's going to be really interesting. On several levels - family and greater family, and on a broader plane. And her herself, of course. Though it'll take years to shake out (I hope!). A good read, and I suspect it will reward a reread in a while. ( )

OH MY! Can you say SURPRISE ending. I was elated and sad.
As for the full novel. WOW!!
I was swept away into the story and couldn't stop listening to the audiobook. I stayed up way too late.
The Alpha & Omega series is different in its passing to the Mercy Thompson series. It's a bit slow going, but then things pick up. I love seeing Anna and Charles together. Their working and personal relationship keeps growing. I enjoying getting to learn about the Merracks pack. This time around we learn more about Bran and Leah. Now I never liked Leah and still don't, but I understand her better. I still feel Bran could have something better, but they make their weird relationship work. This time we get Tag one of the Merracks out of control wolves to tag (hahah) along with Anna and Charles to find out what happened to a small peaceful town called Wild Sign. Coyote makes an appearance as does Samual at the end. I so want the next book because that ending has me reeling and I just don't know how to process.

I do so love the narration for this series and highly recommend the audiobooks.

Well paced horror lite, with some of our favorite werewolves Anna and Charles, with significant appearances of Leah and Bran, with Tag along for the ride and a special guest appearance. This tries to get chthonic but tentacles aren't enough when you have series leads going up against the darkness. The witches were pretty scary though. ( )

Loved it, huge reveals on main characters. "It tastes like ell" - best line ( )

I'm so conflicted about this book. Taken all on its own, I mostly enjoyed it. It's a good story, there's some interesting character building, and I very much enjoyed getting more of a look inside both Tag and Leah. On the other hand, I can't believe the book starts with actually lampshading how much sexual trauma all of the female characters in this series have suffered, only to come up with an even more tragic and violent backstory for Leah. Is there a single character in this universe who doesn't have a tragic backstory? I enjoyed the character of Leah as presented in this book, but both the information here, and her relationship with Bran, feel like a giant retcon. Do I ignore the earlier stuff and just write it off as people not really understanding themselves or other people, or do I just call this a clumsy course correction? Either way, I will keep reading, but maybe with a touch less enjoyment. ( )
