This is a sweet romance where two single neighbors fall in love, a quick read. It's a little predictable, but I didn't mind that one bit. The way Meredith's 6-year-old daughter, Sophie, fell for Cam was sweet and believable, and I love that it created the proximity for he and Meredith to fall in love. I love the way this story worked out for Cam and Meredith, and I especially love that a large portion of the story revolves around the local library and its summer reading program. The more I read by Shannon Stacey, the more I want to go back and read her backlist. I'm excited to continue with the next installment of the Blackberry Bay series, featuring one of Meredith's friends from her high school days.

Thank you to Harlequin for the free review copy via NetGalley! These views are my own. ( )

Meredith, her six year old daughter Sophie and their tiny dog, Oscar have left California to start a new life in Blackberry Bay, New Hampshire. Meredith's life had been on hold for two years since her husband died and she decided to return to the town that she grew up in. When she first meets her next door neighbor she's surprised that it wasn't the elderly woman that the realtor told her lived there. Instead it was a good looking man her age that she immediately had problems with. Cam's grandmother left the house to him and he was spending the summer there to clean up the house and put it up for sale. His very controlling parents were unhappy that he wasn't in New York taking care of his important job at his father's company. He is impressed by Meredith and her daughter and even though Meredith isn't happy with him, Sophie really likes him and wants to spend time with him. Will Meredith and Cam have their happily ever after or continue to fight like her dog and his cat? Give this light summer read a chance to find out the answer to that question. ( )

I voluntarily read and reviewed an advance copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

More Than Neighbors, by Shannon Stacey, is available at booksellers on 6-16-2020. This is Ms Stacey's debut book in the new Blackberry Bay series. It's my first experience with the authors work and I must say I liked it very much. The main characters are very well fleshed out and the secondary characters are inviting and involved in the plot, not just hanging around. There were quite a few ups and downs in the story and it felt like real life. There's loss, grief, love, life changing decisions to be made. Family, good and bad, are at the heart of this journey. His, hers, the one they want to create. Life in a small tourist town sounds pretty good in these pages. Wonder who's next? Happy reading
