Catty was always my least favorite character of the series and I don't think this book is written particularly well either. It's pretty obvious what's going on very early on in the novel and Catty seems kind of dumb for not figuring it out. The ending feels very slapdash as well, with multiple outsiders helping Catty figure out how overcome her problem instead of her being able to rely on her own creativity and ingenuity. When it comes to chemistry though, the chemistry between Catty and Chris is probably the best written until this point in the series. Chris doesn't have much of a personality, like all of the males aside from Stanton, but the physical chemistry is written well and feels a tiny bit more adult than the previous books. ( )

The Daughters of the Moon are back and this time Catty is the main focus of the story. She was found by her adoptive mother when she was 6 years old wandering alone in the desert. She thinks she is an alien and wants to keep her safe from government agencies. In the present Catty is able to move backwards and forwards in time, but has never been able to go back far enough to see her birth parents. Things are about to change when a phone call upsets everything.

The police call saying that her mother has been killed and they need to organise her furneral. The first question is how do they know it is her mother when Catty has no memory of her. The next issue is trying to evade the mysterious three men who appear also trying to claim the body. Catty is approached by a mysterious man whose identity is unknown and who hands her a scroll that is said to destroy the Atrox for good. It is also said to be cursed and unfortunately it seems to be Catty's adoptive mother who is suffering. The Daughters must battle a new type of foe and help Catty discover her past and the identity of the scroll bearer.

This was my favourite in the series so far. Catty is a great character and the story was fast paced and stood out from the previous three. It does seem however that none of them can date as the boys are rarely what they seem! ( )

Catty is definitely an interesting character, and it’s great to see who her parents were, and why they left her. It’s nice to get a closer look at each of the characters individually. ( )

“The Secret Scroll” was written by Lynne Ewing and is two hundred and sixty eight pages long. This book is about four girls named Catty, Vanessa, Serena, and Jimena. These girls have something in common that separates them from other people. Like Catty can go to the past, Vanessa can become invisible, Serena reads minds, and Jimena has premonitions. This makes them “Daughters of The Moon.” The book starts when Catty gets a call from Los Angeles County Coroner’s office which gave her information on her mother. She always wanted to meet her birth mother now that she has the power she decides to go to the past. She meets her mother and inherits a secret scroll on how to get rid of the Atrox once and for all. When Catty goes back in the past with Vanessa they inter fear with three Followers. Catty gives the manuscript to a Maggie whom she trusts but when she meets her mother she told her not to trust Maggie. Catty starts to understand everything little by little. When she finds out that Chris her boyfriend is the one that gave her the manuscript she finally understands why has been acting so weird lately. When she goes to tell Vanessa what she finally has figured out. Toby Vanessa’s boyfriend hears what Catty has been telling Vanessa and resulted that he was a regulator. He had gotten into Vanessa’s mind memory every night and knew everything he needed to and convinced Vanessa that he was a good guy. Till the night that Catty found out who he was and he wouldn’t give Vanessa back to her till Catty destroyed the Manuscript since she was the “heir” the chosen one. She told him he would destroy but if he gave her Vanessa back he said okay. Catty went home and made a fake manuscript exactly the same because the regulators were so scared of the scroll that they wouldn’t even want to look at it. The next night they met at Griffith Park to destroy the manuscript she pretended that she actually destroyed if but she hadn’t they got Vanessa back and tried to escape to the past but Toby was able to take over the portal and took them where he wanted to go and gave shocks with his negative energy he was about to kill Catty when she said “ at least the manuscript wasn’t destroyed” Toby got mad at took her to her house and told her to get the actual copy. When she went inside she remembered the phrase that Kendra had been able to translate she took it out side with her and said it she thought she had destroyed him but she needed more power. Jimena and Serena appeared next to her and help her say it many times until it started to work and Toby was destroyed. The next day Chris came to see Catty to tell her he promised they would be together in the future but first he had to get find the manuscript since it got lost while the girls traveled different periods of time.

The book has been one of the best books I ever read. If I had the option to change anything in it I would just leave it alone because it is perfect the way it is. You should read this book if you like the way the mood changes. It I liked it so much I couldn’t put it down. I encourage you to read it for your self. ( )
