Summary: "Quilt Alphabet" is a book of poetry to help students learn the letters of the alphabet. On each page there is a four line stanza that gives readers a clue to what object is being described. Each letter (A-Z) has its own poem. In addition, each page features colorful illustrations that complement each object being described in the poems. At the end of the book, answers are provided so students can check their work. Review: For K-2 classrooms, I believe "Quilt Alphabet" is a must read for teachers and students. What works so well in this book is the combination of poetry and pictures to help students put a word to the letter on each page (for example, the first page is describing A for Apple). There is even an answer key in the back of the story just in case students become stuck on a letter. This book not only enhances a student's knowledge of the alphabet, but also increases his/her;s vocabulary. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha

One reason I enjoyed this book is because it incorporates poetry, while at the same time teaching you the alphabet. Throughout the book, the illustrations have to do with what the text is describing.
Another reason I like this book is because it makes the reader think and try to figure out what the text is describing and guess what the item is. This is great for children because it makes them use their thinking skills instead of just looking at the pictures. ( )
