THE LITTLE RED HEN AND THE EAR OF WHEAT by Mary Finch is a predictable story that gets the reader to realize that if they help out with something they could end up getting something in return. It starts out by the red hen finding a ear of wheat and asking her friends if they will help her to plan it. She gets turned down. Once the wheat has grown, she then asks her friends to help her cut the wheat. She gets turned down once again. Once she cuts the wheat she asks them to help her bring it to the mill and you can guess what her friends say. Once she has the bread finally cooked, her friends ask if they can help eat it. She turns them down for not helping with the process of it. After the eats the bread her friends and her end up planting a new seed and do the whole process again but together so they all can eat the bread in the end. The illustrations in the book are hand drawn and colored with oil pastels. The colors are colors of nature and add to the story. I think this would be a good book to read to children because it gets them to realize that if they help people out they can get something in the end. ( ) sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
