I really enjoyed this book for many reasons. The first reason is the beautiful illustrations. They are so colorful and unlike any illustrations I have seen before. They are soft yet striking because of the colors and their size. Another reason I enjoyed this book is because of its message. The message this book sends is that you are loved no matter what. Everyone is different and has their own strengths and passions, but that is okay because our differences make us unique. I also like this book because it centers around a family who are people of color. I think this allows for the book to reach an even wider audience. I gave this book 4.5 stars rather than 5 because I think that it could be even more powerful if it featured family that is not a nuclear family with a mother and a father. Overall I really enjoyed this book! ( )
