I'm just gonna say it...after the train wreck that was the third Umbrella Academy collection, and now this, has Gerard lost his Way?

Sigh...yeah, I had to go there. But seriously, it seems like he's completely lost the talent to create a comprehensible story. I couldn't make heads nor tails of this crap.

Sure, it is occasionally hard to follow, but perhaps not as hard as one might expect from a story centred on the surreal adventures of Hazel and Cha Cha, psychotic time cop assassins of the Umbrella Academy universe. We meet them as they're being told to avoid collateral damage from now on, and not bring WMDs on single-assassination missions. Bummer. They then spend most of the story arguing about whether or not ghosts exist, while a B-plot has a teenage discover a huge conspiracy among adults to convince children above the age of 9 that Santa Claus doesn't exist.

It's undeniably rather funny, but it's otherwise a bit too crazy for my tastes. But if this sounds like your kind of thing, you might get a lot more out of it than I did, who mostly just bought this for Umbrella Academy completism. ( )
