*Review*
I'm new to Jennifer Armentrout, so I had no idea what to expect. I do wish I had read The Prince first because reading this story forward instead of backwards would obviously be better. Still, The King was an excellent read with depth I didn't expect for a novella. Brighton is a substantial character with so much strength and resilience. She's an underestimated woman, as women often are, but there's no quit in this girl. I just feel for her in all possible ways. Caden is a well written character too, but I didn't like him as much. I was surprised by how much I was invested in the outcome, but, frustratingly, no resolution is given yet. What!? It's an engrossing story with a wonderful setting, and time flies when you're in it. I will read The Prince now. I definitely recommend if you are a fan of the author or the genre. ( )
