I thought that this was such a good book. This book talks about the relationship between father an daughter. It starts off with a father taking his daughter on a motorcycle ride through town. It shows a small town within the Latinx community struggling. Although they look like they are struggling they all have each other. My Papi Has a Motorcycle shows how even when surroundings change memories always hold true. The book does a good job of using descriptive pictures to show the town that Daisy and her father are driving through. It introduces kids to the idea of community, change, and hard work. It is a simple book with pictures that grab the readers attention. This book would be suitable for all ages due the the nature of the message and would be a good book for a read aloud. 1. I would recommend this book to lower to middle elementary school students. 2. This book is an example of a book that can show culture through a story. This book explains what it is like growing up in a Hispanic family. It also is a great book to explain father, daughter connection. 3.I would highly recommend this book due to the great father daughter connection as well as to introduce other cultures into the classroom sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha

"When Daisy Ramona zooms around her neighborhood with her papi on his motorcycle, she sees the people and places she's always known. She also sees a community that is rapidly changing around her. But as the sun sets purple-blue-gold behind Daisy Ramona and her papi, she knows that the love she feels will always be there. With vivid illustrations and text bursting with heart, My Papi Has a Motorcycle is a young girl's love letter to her hardworking dad and to memories of home that we hold close in the midst of change."-- Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
