The good egg has been good for as long as he remembers. When the other eggs in his carton are rotten, he always does what is good and right. One day he decided enough is enough and he begin to crack from the pressure of always having to be perfect all the time. This is a good follow up to the book The Bad Seed and could be used in the classroom to talk about the balance of being well behaved but also not having to be perfect all the time. ( )

The main character is a very good egg who is constantly worried about his peers. Since the very good egg spends a lot time worrying about the rest of the eggs, he found himself doing more for others than for himself. He learned to focus on himself and take actions that benefit him. I would recommend this book to elementary and middle school students because children are constantly making friends and can get caught up worrying about their peers too much. This book has many good take aways and amazing illustrations. ( )

A story about a good egg. A gooooooood egg. Our egg takes pleasure in being good and works hard to make everyone around it be good too, even the other eggs in its carton, who are definitely not good eggs. But being so good is a lot of pressure. Can our egg hold up?

A tale that subtly teaches kids the dangers of perfectionism and the importance of self-care. Plenty of puns and jokes for grown-ups to enjoy and a cute story that's great for everyone. ( )

As someone who teaches special education, I often find myself reaching for books that help my students regulate their emotions and promote good habits, this book is one of them. In this story the good egg finds himself overtaxed by trying to make up for the actions of those around him and this eventually leads to him cracking and having to take time away for himself. In his self care journey he learns that he does not have to be good for everyone else and that sometimes it's okay for him to relax to. ( )

The good egg lives in a carton of full of bad eggs. He tries to take charge and fix their bad behavior, but nobody really listened. One morning he woke up with some cracks in his shell, so he went the doctor. The doctor said it was because of all the pressure he was putting on himself to make sure everyone else was as good as him. He then decides to take some time to focus on himself alone. When his cracks finally begin to heal, he returns home to his carton and lives in ease knowing that nobody is perfect and nobody has to be.

This is my favorite book. I think this book is not only helpful for children, but adults too. A lot of people struggle with trying to fix other people and trying to be perfect or make others perfect when in reality, nobody's perfect. There was even a recent time in my life where I could have really benefited from the message that this book gives. I definitely will be keeping this book in mind to create a safe place in my classroom. ( )
