I think kids are smart and can enjoy books where the message isn't so in your face. This needed more showing and less telling about bullying. It has cute illustration though, and it's still an important topic. ( )I appreciate how the book is told from the perspective of a friend of the character who is bullied. That is unusual and can be helpful to starting a dialog with a child about what he/she might do if they were in that position. However, I am not fond of the characters calling themselves "weirdos." "We are weirdos with weird hats!" I think that verges on name calling which is something I teach my children is disrespectful. The illustrations were fun and the characters were accurate. For small children. LT Early Reviewer Esta resenha foi escrita no âmbito dos Primeiros Resenhistas do LibraryThing. A sweet, colorfully illustrated story about bullying, friendship, and accepting yourself and others for who they are. As both a parent and a children's librarian, I think this is a cute book with an important message for young readers. Good for beginning readers and to read aloud to children.
Peter and Bruno's friendship is at risk after Sergio begins making fun of Bruno for wearing a weird hat--and Peter for defending him. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
