It was her special day... but his worst nightmare. A rekindled romance wasn't part of the plan. Despite his American background, August O'Leary is the most sought-after wedding planner in London. Naturally, Libby and Edward come to him for a wedding the city will never forget. But Edward is an international businessman, so the details are left to Libby and her best friend--who happens to be the love of August's life and the one who broke his heart eight years ago: Christopher Burke. How's August supposed to pull off the event of the year with Christopher distracting him and old feelings crashing the party uninvited? Christopher has let money and status dictate his life, but no more. His failure to stand up to others' expectations cost him his future with August--one he hoped would include marriage. Now he has to face August's hurt and anger and prove he's still the best man to make August happy. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |

To say that August and Christopher have a history makes what they went through sound rather more harmless than what it felt like for both of them. August is neither rich nor from a high-society background, but Christopher is both. August has created distance between his family and himself and stands on his own two feet, Christopher still lets his family and their snobbish attitude about “breeding” and status and money determine his actions. It is the latter that made Christopher break up with August after they were a couple all the way through university and were going to get married. August has never had another relationship, and though he won’t admit it, there is still a lot of pain.
When they meet again, the chemistry is still very obviously there. Even through the pain it causes August, he finds it difficult to resist. Christopher seems to have changed, but he has a heck of a time trying to convince August of that fact, and even when they finally seem to be on the right track, the old fears are alive enough to derail them yet again. Luckily they are both more mature, and Christopher is much more determined to be happy – his way, not his family’s way – so that he refuses to give up this time around. But it’s quite the ride!
If you like romances with lots of humorous situations and great secondary characters, if the romance of wedding planners’ lives is as much your thing as the many small and huge disasters they encounter on the job, and if you’re looking for a read that is emotional, funny, entertaining, and has lots of drama, then you will probably like this novel.
