Independent Reading Level: 2nd Grade A cat, a mouse, a dog, and a hen all lived together in a house. The cat, dog, and mouse liked to sleep all day while the hen did all the housework. One day when she was hoeing the garden, she found some grains of wheat. She asked who will plant the wheat and neither the cat, dog, or mouse helped plant the wheat. When it came time for the wheat to be cut, the hen asked who would cut the wheat and neither the dog, cat, or mouse helped cut the wheat. When it came time to bring the wheat the the mill to be ground into flour, the hen asked who would bring the wheat and neither the dog, cat, or mouse helped bring the wheat. When the hen came back from the mill with a bag of flour, she asked who would make a cake with the flour and neither the dog, cat, or mouse helped. When the cake was finished and ready to eat, the hen asked who would eat the cake and the dog, mouse, and cat all agreed to help eat the cake, but the hen decided she would eat it all by herself since she made the cake all by herself. After that, whenever there was work to be done, the cat, dog, and mouse offered to help. This is a great story! This story teaches students to always be helpful when they can. I think this is a great book to read to students before assigning classroom jobs to show students that they have to participate in the work if they wanna enjoy the reward that comes after all the hard work. This book does a great job in showing students responsibility. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
