It’s the story of Susanne and Anja (shh, don’t tell anyone how many pages in it was until I realized how that name is supposed to be said, and I should know better, one of my co-workers names originates from the same region of the world. Bad me). Susanne has just quit her job because it’s become a totally toxic situation, and her mother suggests that her Uncle Nobby’s ‘stationary’ store is having some hard times. Perhaps she could go and help him out. Anja is Nobby’s only full time employee, and from the text it very much seemed like a sort of pseudo daughter to him as well. They meet, and they aren’t the best of friends at that point. Anja believes some not so nice things about Susanne, and Susanne does the same about Anja and her choice of technological level. Of course, this is a romance, and so they slowly get closer and closer, although it’s not without missteps. I think that my favorite part of the book was the fact that Jae didn’t denigrate either side of the tech/non-tech debate. Personally, I love getting different pens, pencils, notebooks, although I love gel pens, so, not quite as high priced as in this book, as well as the techie-ness of the perfect app, program, or website for what I want to do. I always enjoy books by Jae, but, this one hit a nice sweet spot, oh, and it was set in Germany, and I could tell through the writing the love for Germany and Freiburg. It shone through (and those mini-canals by the sidewalks. Yeah, I don’t think that I’d ever have dry pants legs ever again. Heh). sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
Falling in love wasn't part of the plan in this lesbian romance from bestselling author Jae. Susanne Wolff isn't thrilled when her mother sends her all the way across the country to Freiburg to save her uncle's stationery store from bankruptcy. Freiburg is too provincial for her taste, and besides, pen and paper are outdated anyway. Anja Lamm, Paper Love's only full-time employee, takes an instant dislike to the arrogant, digital-loving snob who's supposed to be her temporary boss. But thanks to a meddling cat, a business trip to a stationery fair, and an armada of origami boats, Anja soon starts to see beneath Susanne's aloof exterior, and Susanne discovers how sexy pens and notebooks can be-at least when Anja handles them. As the end of Susanne's three-month stay approaches, will she stick to her plan to leave, or will she open her heart to more than just paper love? Contains mature themes. If you want romance, true romance this is the book for you. It’s not drama or stupid pointless conflict. It’s just sweet. Two characters that fall for each other. Reminds me of the movie“Imagine Me & You” but better…. This was a great discovery ( )
