Great book with tons of advice on how to setup good habits and break those bad habits. The key takeaways for me were 1) start small and easy, and 2) change takes persistence. There's a reason this book has almost 4.5 stars with over 150,000 ratings. Clear is a good writer that breaks things down well. If you want to or have ever wanted to change the way you do things in your life you need to read this book. ( )

Read because I heard the author on the Making Sense with Sam Harris podcast. Some good scaffolding for making new habits and breaking bad ones, but this book is absolutely loaded with fluff. It could have been 50 pages long, or even a pamphlet. I can appreciate the research Clear has done and he's got a specialty here. ( )

I give James Clear kudos for his life changing formula. I'm sure if I'd read this book a few decades ago, I would have been able to put some of his strategies into place. At this point in my life, it's a change too far for me. I gave it over 100 pages, though.

Book title and author Atomic Habits An Easy & Proven Way to build Good Habits & Break Bad Ones by James Clear reviewed 2-3-24

Why I picked this book up: there was an Ad for headway called Read Daily to Grow Steadily. The first, second and fourth are books I’ve already read, this book was a free version audiobook so I listed to it. He talks about how easy it is to make excuses and how to change that around for better improvement and daily habits to achieve your desired goal. He focuses more on systems.

    Thoughts:
I found this book interesting. It is based on basic behaviorism and CBT.
