What can I say. SA books in my opinion are absolutely the best and this is another prime example, great info and COLOR photos. This is a good go-to for the 1997-2006 Jeep TJ crowd that wants to fix up their Jeep in the driveway, or maybe just need some ideas for a project you're looking at picking up.

Jeep TJ 1997-2006 (2018) by Michael Hanssen. Yet another great book from the good people at CarTech and SA Design. Who knew there were so many models of Jeeps around. Back in the day I drove and maintained (to a degree) my Army issued jeep. There were few modifications done to it bad it did have a bad-ass camo paint job. It was also the best vehicle I had ever driven off road. That thing could go anywhere at any time of the year.
Civilian Jeeps are an entirely different animal. Bigger, classier with a prettier design, but no matter what you did to the thing, it still had the heart of my old jeep.
While the YJ and CJ variants of the Jeep had been around for a while, when the TJ came onto the market it just muscled those others to the side. From the redesigned suspension, to the 4.0 L 6 cylinder engine, to the styling (round headlights again, yeah!) and so many other mods, the TJ quickly became the new fan favorite.

This is a very good guide to building and modifying a Jeep TJ! It starts with the identification of the differences throughout the life cycle of the TJ, what to look for in a good off-road platform, and maybe most importantly the reality of a project vehicle in cost and time.
The author touched on all of the major areas of the TJ, some of which are universal, generally speaking, such as winches, lighting, tools, etc…

This book holds up to the high standards that Car Tech is known for. It includes detailed instructions on how to rebuild or modify a JeepTJ. The photos are very helpful. A must have if you want to modify your JeepTJ. ( )

All I can say is outstanding! I have read and used several CarTech books and this one would be at the top of the list for me. It was detailed and informative. As with of the CarTech books the pictures accompanying the text were useful and appropriate to the topics being discussed. It is chalk full of great advise for a Jeep enthusiast or someone considering a Jeep makeover. ( )
