This is a book about a town that has a big store coming into the area. This causes a store owner to consider closing his store due to the threat of losing business. His granddaughter doesn't want him to sell, so with the help of the town, they keep the store open. It shows how people pull together to help one another.

This story is about a little girl named Lucy. When Lucy learns her grandfathers grocery store might have to close down, she realizes she must do something to keep this from happening. When the day comes for the big supermarket to open no one shows up. Everyone is at Lucy's grandfathers store. With Lucy's hard work and dedication she was able to make every one realize how special her grandfathers store was. This story was very cute. It shows kids that they have a voice and when they use it they can change the world even if its in a small way. ( )
