My least favorite of the series.
Just way too much YA/NA angsty drama. To much 'Woe is me' from both Mel and Rome.
They drove me nuts.

Then there is the lack of any details about the suspense going on with Gage and Rome. It was jumpy at best.

I hated what happened with Duck and quite frankly, I didn't think that it fit his personality to fall for Talia's 'Disguise'.

There were just tons of things in this one that bothered me. ( )

Randi Whittaker has come back home for her 10th high school reunion. When she left Hallies Falls, she really hadn't had much choice since wildfires had burned down her home and most of her community. Since then, the community has rebuilt, and Randi's mother has moved back home with her younger sister and brother. What Randi finds when she returns is that her mother has succumbed to her disability and her 16 year old sister has become the caretaker of the family. Randi also finds that the attraction to Rome McGuire that she never had a chance to act on, is as strong as when she left. After a disastrous date, Randi vows to leave Hallies Falls and Rome behind, but the events that follow change her plans and her life forever.
I have always enjoyed the Reapers MC books and this one is no exception. My only complaint is that this book was written as a novella, and it definitely could have been a complete novel. Otherwise another good Reapers MC story. ( )

I know 3 stars is low for a Joanna Wylde book but that's only because I wanted so much more!

I dig Rome and Randi but I wanted more of their story.

I wanted to know more about his family, the fire fighting and just why he ended up joining the MC. We learned about the family tradition of fire fighting and the death of his brother but what are his parents like. I guess when you get a man like Rome who is a badass you want to know all about him.

Randi, her mother, the broken family....how did it get that bad? Why didn't her sister, Lexi, let her know how bad it had gotten? Where's her dad, does she have more family....aunts, uncles, cousins? Did she have a someone special back in Missoula?

I get it, it's a novella but I wish this had been longer so I could really sink my teeth into Rome and Randi, their love story/history. I would also love to know more about Peaches, she seems like a kick in the pants.

Okay so done with my pity party because I didn't get enough. I liked it. I'll read more for Joanna because well it's Joanna. Until the next one, read on and be happy. ( )

Good, quick read. Rome and Randi were hot and went through alot to get to where they are. Nice addition to the Reapers books. ( )

I really liked Randi and Rome's story--it packed just the right amount of drama, sexiness, and sweetness into a novella-sized package.

Rome's Chance is a second chance romance of sorts, though the first time around Rome and Randi didn't really have much of a chance thanks to a series of circumstances beyond their control. This time, though, Rome is determined to not let Randi get away again--no matter how many obstacles life tries to throw their way.

And whoa, did life do some big-time obstacle throwing here...

With everything that was going on in Randi's life, Ms. Wylde could have definitely stretched this book into a full-length novel; instead she did a great job of just showing us the bits we really needed to see and kept it as an ultimately satisfying novella--a great addition to both the Reapers MC series and the 1001 Dark Nights series.

Though a few other Reapers MC series characters take part in the events here, it would work just fine as a standalone, making it a good choice both for first-time readers and for series fans.
