This book is a good informational book for children learning about what they can do to help the environment and other people. However, some of the suggested things the children do in the book, are not realistic for children to do by themselves though they are good suggestions.

Before reading this book I did not realize that it was interactive, which kind of turned me off from the book because I would love to read this to children to talk about the environment and what we can do to help it. With the book being interactive, I don't see myself using this book as a class read aloud. On the second page, the authors have an illustration of the continents, but only have 6 and not 7. I understand that no one lives on Antarctica, but it is still a continent and is effected by climate change too.

Overall, this book was alright. It's not something I would read to a class but it still has good points about helping the Earth to heal from humans living on it and not thinking about their actions having consequences. ( )

Jump aboard the White Feather Flier, a magical plane that can go wherever you want. The Flier's mission is to transport readers around the world, to engage them in helping to save the environment, and to teach one and all to love our planet. The imaginary flight takes the readers to bring medicine to people in need, dive below the ocean to bleached coral reefs, visit the city to cultivate green spaces, help the rain forest return and give its animals a home. With this book, we can explore the planet, meet new people, and help make the world a better place!

This was a book about caring about the environment, and taking active steps to help. The book talks about real life occurrences, such as areas of the world with no healthcare. It shows us what is happening to our coral reefs. We see a variety of problems and the author also presents us with solutions. As I was reading, I felt a sense of responsibility and I love the idea that this can be shared with young children. I thought of when my son was little and decided to pick up litter. I thought about how I volunteer during every disaster. It left me with a feeling that I want to do more! I like the poem at the end about loving all of the children in the world and coming together to ensure that our planet is preserved and that everyone can have a happy, healthy life. I actually decided to buy this book so I can share it with my students. ( )

Source: the book's dust jacket: "Julian Lennon is a Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter, photographer, documentarian, and philanthropist. He founded the global and humanitarian organization The White Feather Foundation, whose key initiatives are education, health, conservation, and the protection of indigenous culture.

"Bart Davis is an international best seller of novels and nonfiction books.

"Smiljana Coh is an artist who studied film animation and combines traditional and digital illustration techniques in her work.

"[Heal the Earth" is] [a]n inspiring, lyrical story, rooted in Lennon's life and work, with gorgeous illustrations that bring the faraway world closer to young children. The book includes words to a new special poem written by Julian Lennon specifically for 'Heal the Earth.'"
