This is a great read of unusual quality for its clarity, shrewd insights, and practical, pastoral stimulus. Each psalm is treated as an entity, with the Bible text always clearly in the driving-seat. Yet each is also related to the whole sweep of biblical theology and especially to the centrality of our Lord Jesus Christ. The contemporary applications are down-to-earth and realistic, as well as challenging and motivational, heart-warming, and spirit-uplifting. This is the best sort of expository Bible teaching, which I commend both very warmly and very gratefully for the blessing it has been to me. Book jacket.
