FORGOTTEN MEMORIES None of her training prepares astronaut Natasha Stark for what she wakes up to three weeks after her groundbreaking space voyage: a target on her back--and no memories. But there's something oddly familiar about the FBI agent who rescues her. Christopher Barton can't believe he drew the mission of safeguarding his long-ago fiancée and her daughter--a child he has every reason to believe is his. To learn the truth, though, he has to help Natasha regain her memory. But with threats mounting against the family he hopes to join, Chris is running out of time to take down the assailants before they kill the woman he never forgot and the child he never knew existed. Natasha and Chris were engaged 12 years ago. Natasha's father broke them up. Since then, Chris has gone on to become an FBI agent and Natasha a NASA astronaut and mother. Chris finds Natasha injured on the side of the road with a gun nearby.
The story seemed a bit disjointed to me--which is realistic in that Natasha has amnesia so she really doesn't remember what's gone on, but a bit frustrating to the reader who is also trying to figure it out.
I guessed one of the characters's involvement in the scheme before it was revealed by the author and even predicted what he/she would do--though he/she went further than I'd anticipated--and there was actually someone else behind it that I hadn't guessed.
Chris re-finds his faith and discovers he has a daughter. Natasha relies on her faith and discovers her father definitely lied to her 12 years before. To be fair, the father realizes his mistakes, confesses them, and asks for their forgiveness. It was good to see growth in the characters. ( )
