Going to put the same review for all the Clique books (unless I already reviewed them). These books are about a group of awful girls that I would hate to meet - and yet they're oddly addicting. So yes, I read all of them despite the fact that the girls were horrible. ( )

Best Friends for Never is the second entry in the Clique series, which follows wealthy seventh grade queen bee Massie Block and her exclusive group of friends at the all-girl Octavian Country Day School. The less affluent Lyons family has recently moved into the Block’s guest house, as Mr. Lyons and Mr. Block are old friends from college. Claire Lyons is in the same grade as Massie and their parents pressure them to become friends, although Claire is a misfit with her Old Navy clothes and casual friendliness. In this book, Massie and Claire pretend to be growing closer so their parents will allow them to throw a giant co-ed Halloween party; both girls have crushes on the same boy from a nearby boys’ school; and a threat of a new school uniform leads to a middle school runway show attended by the editors of Teen People. Although there is some resolution to the plot, this book is definitely best read as part of the series. The characters are generally entitled and scheming, leading to inevitable Gossip Girl comparisons, but unlike that series this book has minimal cursing and no drinking or sexual activity, making it appropriate for a junior high age group. Recommended where books like Pretty Little Liars and The A-List have been popular; ages 9-12. ( )

From Lisi Harrison's bestselling novel, The Clique, comes another exciting adventure with Massie Block, Dylan Marvil, Kristen Gregory, Alicia Rivera, and of course, wannabe Claire Lyons. Like so many other books with girls destined to be on top, Massie Block will not settle for less. Massie and her friends are either on top, or on top; no excuses. In this adventurous sequel, you will learn what it takes for one girl to keep her place. "The only thing harder than getting in is staying in."

To prove that Massie is still number one, she decides to throw OCD's (Octavian Country Day's) first boy/girl Halloween party. Being one of the richest girls in town, this was an easy success. There's only one problem. It's either do it with wannabe Claire, or have to invite the entire seventh grade...including the nerds! Of course, these trend-setting girls won't let that get in the way!

From parties to the principal's office, this book will keep you wanting more with its fast pace plot and dynamics. It is well thought out, and the characters are interesting enough that you would actually want to learn more about them. The intriguing thing about this book is that most people wouldn't be able to relate to it that well. However, reading about a different life style is what makes this book appealing to so many readers. Most people wouldn't ride a limo to school every day, but reading about it can be quite fascinating!

Lisi Harrison does an exceptional job sharing the lives of these characters in extensive detail. Instead of sharing one characteristic about each person, she goes in depth telling the reader through actions of the character, what each person is like. By doing this, it helps the reader to better understand what the character's mind set is. I love when authors use a lot of detail in the story; and Lisi Harrison did just that!

I have minor feedback for this novel. Although this is realistic fiction, it doesn't seem THAT realistic. Most people choose books because they are able to relate to it in some way. In this case, most people would not be able to coordinate with these characters and settings. That being said, I think this is still a wonderful novel. I feel as though this is enjoyment to find what these out-of-the-ordinary characters do throughout their everday lives.

Overall, I think this an amazing book! With the character's personalities, this book is a page turner. Once you finish it, you will be itching for the next one! While writing for MTV, Lisi Harrison has come out with some thrilling novels that are sure to catch your eye. She's achieved what a lot of people are looking for; a light but dramatic novel just waiting for you to open the first page! ( )

This a book that you have to read the whole series to figure out what is going on. If you read the second book without reading the first book, you will be lost. This is a good book read. ( )

This was a really good book i recommend it but you should read The Clique first because the first book in the series and Best Friends for Never would be easier to understand if you read the first one first. ( )

Massie Block hated herself for looking so beautiful. She angled a silver soup spoon toward her face and quickly glanced at her reflection.
