Loved it. Funny and painful and interesting, full of random information about vaginas and babies an information sponge like me will appreciate. I’m happy I now have insight into how hard being a doctor actually is, it’s an enlightenment for the better. I want to be a voice for this issue whenever I can now. Thank you for sharing this with us, Adam. ( )

Funny and entertaining. An important book showing what it's like working in the UK's NHS and all the ups and downs of it.
I didn't really connect to it as I thought I would though, the health care world being so distant from mine. ( )

I really loved this book, from the irreverent beginning to the heartbreaking ending. I really appreciated how he talks about patients, with respect and concern and only a little bit of snark :D ( )

After reading this book I do not understand why any woman in her right mind would ever want to give birth.

This book is a series of diary entries from a British OBGYN working for the NHS. He's since given up medicine and is a comedian, which makes for great writing.

But yah...tons of horror stories in here about what it's like to bring a human into the world, but definitely a good read. ( )

This took me a long time to read for some reason. Whilst I enjoyed and laughed at the anecdotes I couldn't spend too much time on them and became a bit bored with the constant explanations of the various medical bits. Clearly Adam Kay is passionate about the NHS as I am too and I hope those who read it understand the tremendous commitment made by all those clinical staff who work for the service. ( )
