Imagine the shock when you realise your almost invisible father isn't the loveable rogue you thought he was, but someone quite evil who kills on the spur of the moment - just because. This is what Suzanne had to face when she is given her "loving" father's journals. This is a fantastic read with plenty of action and certainly kept me entertained the whole way through. I liked the way it was written, the cover and the characters, well maybe not all of them! I was eager to see what this selfish villain would do next and what nasty end he would bring to some poor unsuspecting person - maybe even a follow up! ( ) This book is dark and somewhat intense. The main character, Suzanne, has been estranged from her father, Don, for just about her whole life. She saw him just a few times over her life time. But after he dies, his partner, Rose, contacts her to give her some of his belongings. This starts a journey that no one wants to do. It appeared that her father may have been a serial killer. How do you process that? Suzanne had lots of issues with this. It was especially unsettling when she finds a photo of her friend, Sophie, in his belongings. This starts her journey to find out more about her father and what he did and who he was. There were so many questions and twists, it makes for a great mystery! It is not a cute, jovial story, but rather dark and at time intense. But I enjoyed it. Woah! Don Tyler is one scary dude. He is definitely one I would not like to meet in a dark alley. Actually, he is not one I would like to meet in broad daylight even, anywhere. I can truthfully say that this book scared the crap out of me. This guy was relentless. Heartless and hell bent to get whatever and whoever he wanted. I finished reading this book about 2:30 in the morning. I HAD to start another book, just to get this guy out of my mind. There was no way I was sleeping with him still on my mind. Definitely a great read and if your into creepy, scary, a book that should be right up your alley.
