Mal seems to be reverting to the angry beast he was at the beginning of "Serenity", Simon is halfway to being who he was in the Pilot. The antagonists were fine but kind of uninspired. "The Warrior and the Wind" was pretty touching, though, excellent in-verse storytelling. More Mal and co. is always good and I'm enjoying the switch from filling in gaps left by the early demise of Firefly to continuing the story beyond the Serenity film, however there's also a little gem of a self-contained story here that looks back on Zoe and Wash. Don't start here. Some of the other Serenity comics have been a bit simplistic, but this one was tight. It had politics, grey characters and good writing. The characters have moved on since the events of the movie (and a few earlier comics). They've settled in some ways. Mal and his crew try to help Iris (a River-like 'experiment') to rescue her friend Bea, who has gone missing. This embroils them with a local terrorist group and unwanted offworld interest. My only criticism of this one was that sometimes the artwork of the faces was unclear and I got confused about who was talking. (Kaylee? Inara? River? It wasn't always clear). But otherwise one of my favourites of the post-Serenity comics I've read. Well, this is about as bland and inconsequential as licensed, work-for-hire storytelling gets. The artist almost captures the likenesses and the writer sort of knows the spirit of the characters, so if you just need a whiff of a Firefly fix, this'll hold you over until something better comes along. Or you could just watch the show again... sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
