The Original Series is my favorite show of the Trek franchise. I imprinted young when I developed a crush on Captain Kirk at eleven. At it's best it could be amazing, and featured scripts by science fiction talents such as Theodore Sturgeon and Harlan Ellison.

The First Season had some of the strongest episodes, which is true of these two: "Miri" "Conscience of the King." They're not favorites, but they are both strong and fun to watch. I remember as a child McCoy making a great impression in "Miri" when he takes it upon himself to test a risky cure. These were also the last television episodes where Yeoman Rand appeared. And "Conscience of the King" gave us an important part of Kirk's background. Definitely enjoyable and watchable episodes. ( )
