I've now added a new favorite author to my list. I thoroughly enjoyed Shades of Circle City and can't wait to read more. Chloe Cole the beat cop main character is someone I would like to know and get to know better. She's a fine cop whose thrown in at the deep end when she's shot by a fleeing robbery suspect and briefly dies and is brought back. Braxton Wolfe the state cop whose working robbery cases similar to the one that got her shot brings a whole new world into her life that she never expected. Chloe came back with an extra ability, seeing ghosts and Braxton and his pack are supernatural beings - werewolves. Death magic, a grieving father and a blood mage complicate Braxton and Chloe's life, leaving them with a much more dangerous enemy in the blood mage. I look forward to following their continued adventures. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha

Chloe is Catholic, a cop, and conventional, not necessarily in that order. But when a run-of-the-mill burglary arrest goes bad, she ends up dead. Turns out there are worse things than having a bra that doesn't fit right. When she wakes up alive-yeah, she's as surprised as you are-she keeps seeing people her friends can't see. She can't get those people to talk to her, though, and one of them looks hauntingly familiar, even though it's no one Chloe actually knows. A handsome Indiana State Trooper with secrets of his own tells her that her would-be killer is tied to an open robbery case. While they work together to bring a relentless killer to justice, Chloe has increasingly disturbing encounters with the shades only she can see. She finally realizes her death (and subsequent resurrection) has given her a connection to the restless dead of Indianapolis, and with a recent homicide rate over a hundred a year, there are a lot of restless dead in Indianapolis. What's a conventional, Catholic cop to do? Catch the crook, get the guy, and say a few Hail Marys just to be safe. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |

Never a dull moment and I really enjoyed the diverse band of characters.
Two cops Chloe and Braxton are thrown together in order to solve what they assume are simple burglaries, but little do they know the full extent of what they have become involved in. Throw in some dark magic and you know things are not what they seem.
I really don’t want to give too much away but if you like crime solving with some paranormal help thrown in, you will definitely enjoy this book.
I am actually quite excited to see what the sequel brings and what my little group of crime fighters get up to next. ( )
