When Sara leaves him - broken by their inability to conceive - Pietro reverts to a younger self, leaving the dishes unwashed and the bed unmade. Soon after, Sara confesses that she is pregnant from a casual encounter, and comes to rely on Pietro's mother for support. This leaves the three of them in an uncomfortable limbo, unable to move on. Into all of this falls Olmo, an old man haunted by memories of war. When he asks Pietro to travel to Russia on his behalf, to right a wrong from his past, Pietro sees a chance for a new beginning...
