Dominic by L.A. Casey
What a treat to find this series. Love this author’s voice. She’s from Ireland and most of the book is in Irish slang or their use of words and it was different. I also found myself laughing at a good portion of the book, her sense of humor is warped which I loved.

The premise for this series is a group of American brothers who are now living in Ireland. Even though they are the base of the series its only told from the heroine’s point of view. The two main leads in this book are both 18 and seniors in high school which is where the majority of the story takes place.

Its so hard to decide what to say about the book as I don’t want to give away big spoilers. The two sets of siblings are the main core. Bronagh Murphy lost her parents at a young age and her older sister becomes her guardian. She loves her sister and because of the pain of the loss of losing her parents she has decided she isn’t going to let anyone else in except her sister so she has alienated everyone at school and just keeps to herself.

Dominic Slater and his 4 brothers came to Ireland from New York. We don’t get the real reason till much later in book but know that Dominic fights in the underground fighting world.

Dominic is immediately intrigued by Bronagh but she wants nothing to do with him and so the two are constantly fighting which is the bases for much of the humor in the book. Bronagh is one tough cookie but yet she is also pretty vulnerable on the inside and fights to not let anyone see that side of her. As a reader you can see these two are perfect for each other but the culture differences and their backgrounds make it a bumpy road to that HEA.

As the story progresses we find out the real reason Dominic and his brothers are in Ireland. Towards the end of the book this drastically changes the mood to be darker. Each of the brothers has had to become something they didn’t want because of their mob connected father who is now dead but they are still paying for his sins. I look forward to reading their stories.

Until Trever by Aurora Rose Reynolds
I love these Mayson men. This series gets better with every book. When we met Liz in the previous book she came across as a painfully shy person so imagine my surprise to find out she had quite a bit of spunk to her and is downright humorous at times. Trevor Mayson never had a chance once he met Liz.. Oh he tried for about 5 minute to deny fate but see fate doesn’t let you get away with that so once he finally gave in he actually turned out to be quite the patient, loving, understanding man (with plenty of possessive qualities too)

I loved every minute of this book. I love how the main focus of the story is always the couple but its also got plenty of family time, some suspense and in the case of this book tons of humor.

At the end of this book is a teaser chapter for the next brothers book.. That teaser of Cash and Lilly’s story was sooo good I almost forgot what I just read. That’s a sign of a great author that as soon as you finish one book your jonesing for the next one.

Tears of Tess by Pepper Winters
This defiantly falls into the realm of dark but yet its hero isn’t quite what you think he is. Tess Snow was a late oops in her parents’ life. They were ready to retire and instead they had a late in life baby that they never nourished with love. So Tess has always been looking for that something to fill in that void and thinks she found it in her boyfriend as he wants to take care of her. Problem is Tess wants to be taken care of in a more masochistic way, which even surprises her, and her boyfriend is abhorred she could even be thinking such things. They go on a trip to Mexico where Tess is hoping they can rekindle their sex life and instead she gets kidnapped and sold into slavery.

Here is where the story takes a different turn. While still in Mexico with the kidnappers and branded as a slave Tess vows to never let them break her no matter what they have in store for her and she fights them at every turn. She is finally sold to who she assumes is a sex trader and will have to become his slave. But Q doesn’t buy women for the reason you think. Tess doesn’t know this in the beginning and these two are at in a battle of wills which we see turns Q on more than it should. Tess also struggles with how turned on she gets with his rough treatment and punishments. One the one hand its something she also wanted from her boyfriend but Q is the man holding her against her will she shouldn’t be having these feelings for him.

Q history is explained from his POV towards the end of the book which helps you understand why he is the way he is and why he takes slaves on and then releases them back to their families. When the time came to let Tess go neither really wanted that but the saying - Set Them Free. If They Come Back They’re Yours really comes into play here.

I see this was a three book series but I liked the ending of this one so much and from what I’ve read about what happens in the second one I think I am going to stop with this one. If you like dark romances with a BDSM theme and anti hero’s I defiantly say this this book/author a try.
