Rafe is a pirate, who comes across as an 'I only have sex on the brain' kind of guy, who constantly makes sexual innuendos and overtures. The story starts out with Emma making a deliver to Rafe and ends with aliens attacking them and Rafe fleeing Earth with Emma in tow. These two have a relationship based on a lot of sexual suggestions but no action but once they're aboard the ship it ramps up. For me the ramp up was not good, he relentlessly pursues Emma for sex, not for a relationship but to relieve his needs. No matter how many times Emma turns him down, he keeps pursuing her, masturbating when she knows she'll come into the room. It soured the read for me, Rafe never changes his ways. There is some fun and snark with his jealous ship AI named Annabelle, and when Emma isn't playing dumb damsel, I liked that she would stand up for herself. This was just and okay read and I'm hoping the next book in the series will be better. More of my reviews can be found at https://wyldheartreads.wordpress.com/ sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha

Earth: a space pirate's dream when it comes to booty, but not a good place to hide when bounty hunters come looking. Pulling up stakes means Rafe must leave his vintage trailer behind, but in the process, he acquires a passenger, a mouthy female who seems to think she's calling the shots. She'll soon learn who's the captain. And it isn't Annabelle, his sassy ship. A true red-blooded male, Rafe does his best to teach Emma her place in the universe, but her human attitude gets in the way. So why doesn't he sell her when he gets the chance? Damned if he knows, but despite his motto of "the universe revolves around me," he finds himself putting his life in peril to save hers. But that doesn't mean he's letting her in on all his secrets. Some things a man has to carry alone, and some revelations a pirate will kill to keep. The universe might be out to get him, but he's not giving in without a fight. Contains mature themes. Tended to drag in quite a few spots. The flow was off.
The premise was interesting. There is plenty of action/adventure. Just the right amount of adult romance.
The main characters, Emma & Rafe, are amusing.
Annabelle is the most curious spaceship I have had the pleasure to meet in a story! I can't decide if she is the ship itself or the computer that runs the ship. Or maybe both.
Filled with snark, lots of grinning, snickering and laugh out loud moments. Some of which was from Annabelle (the ship).
A fun read. I enjoyed it enough to continue with the series. ( )
