Henri Dunn is a pacific northwest vampire who gets injected with "the cure" and suddenly finds herself human again. Then she helps the perpetrator find a killer. I enjoyed reading this story and look forward to reading more Henri Dunn. ( ) This was a very refreshing take on vampires. It's so hard to find a vampire story, that hasn't been told countless times, and the author has done just that! This story was unique, and I loved it for that. It's part vampy, wolfy, and science experimenty. So, the story takes place in Seattle, as an angsty, ex-vampire, waitress tries to wait tables, and not kill annoying patrons. LOL. Henri's thoughts are just hilarious!! It was really interesting to hear Henri talk about things she used to do as a vampire, and what she does now as a human for the 2nd time. The way her life has been drastically altered without her consent and trying to find her new self, I found just fascinating. I loved how the author would flash between her old vampire side, and her new compassionate human side. You can definitely feel Henri's struggle as she tries to find herself. The lore behind supernaturals in this is story is definitely different. How vampires are made, their blood bags, and how they form circles. It was nice to see a new take on that. No stakes, oh I'm sparkly..you must love me, no vampire mind games, no I'm gonna kill you...but I can't enter your house. I found those irritating in other novels, and felt more connected to the characters without that being the case. The lab science experiments was rather exciting. Ray actually managed to make weres, Neha managed to cure vampires, so it makes you wonder what else science is capable of. It will be interesting to see were this goes in further volumes. I am also really curious how Henri will test out her new abilities. As for the cover, it is beautifully done, and I am drawn to it. For some reason, I was thinking this was going to have an Asian theme to it. I don't know why, maybe it's the makeup on the model, but it looks like she's Asian to me. xD Overall, this was a nice, unique, vampire story, that I can not wait to see where it goes. I enjoyed the authors writing style, even though there were some spelling/grammar mistakes, I can live with that. Very eager to see where this series goes from here, and what other supernatural stores the author comes up with. **I received a copy of the e-book from the author, in exchange for an honest and unbiased review** sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
