YOUR WORK MATTERS. A recent Gallup poll found that over 70% of American workers are not engaged in their work. We spend over 40 years working, but for what? Are we destined to grit our teeth through each day and live for vacation time? We must wake up. God created this thing called work for a purpose and it plays a huge role in His plan for us. It was His first blessing. In Walking Through Walls, Brad Larson reframes the way Christians should think about work and helps the reader integrate their faith and their vocation by tackling the walls that stand in the way. In this book you will learn: - God's design for work and man's purpose in it - The consequence of sin on work (and the good news of work's redemptive trajectory) - What faithful, God-honoring work looks like - How to address the walls that prevent integration of faith and work (faulty assumptions, entitlement, culture, etc.) - A better way forward in regards to leadership, "secular" vocation, and maximizing the gift of time Grab hold of the gift of work. God has great plans for you.… (mais)

I was given this book in exchange for an honest review.
First of all, I'd like to start off with I hope you're not thinking of work in the corporate, 9-5 sense. This book is so much more than that.
Brad Larson is an average sort of guy-in a good way. He's got a job in business, a wife and kids. He likes some down time to enjoy himself.
But Brad Larson wasn't content to see people muddling through life and their job. For that, we should all be thankful.
Brad addresses the issues and twisted views we've come to adopt, especially in America, about work and life. He does it in a very down-to-earth, empathetic way, using analogies like getting lost by a creek as a kid and climbing mountains with his dad.
Whether you're a student, a business man, or a stay at home mom (or a writer like me), you're doing some form of work. And God has something to say about that. He wants to open your eyes and pour His life into you, and Brad does a really good job of presenting that.
Walking Through Walls is full of biblical, eye-opening, and encouraging news. I believe you'll look at work and these truths in a better light after reading this book. I'd definitely recommend it.
P.S. Speaking of light, I really like the cover. They did an excellent job on that, too. ( )
