Easy read and very entertaining. Definitely similarities to some of my own midwest childhood experiences. ( ) From the creator of the television show "Freaks and Geeks" Feig tells some of the real stories that helped inspire the show. What really happened to the heirloom necklace he gave to a girl he worshiped in home room? Frightening tales of locker room antics (that never even occurred to me as problematic)? Bullies, cooties, and hilarious, awkward teenage obsessions make this book laugh-out-loud funny. I really liked this book, well-written, easy, flowing prose style, funny and heartfelt; it's a highly enjoyable book. This memoir is really more of a series of grueling anecdotes from a tortured preadolescence & early adolescence. They are the sorts of stories that bring back all the worst parts of being a kid, stories that made my skin crawl. Some of them were almost funny, in a horrifying fashion. Feig's a pretty good writer, a master of self-deprecation, and one of those people who remembers all the things one does well to forget about being a kid. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
Written in side-splitting and often cringe-inducing detail, Paul Feig takes you in a time machine to a world of bombardment by dodge balls, ill-fated prom dates, hellish school bus rides, and other aspects of public school life that will keep you laughing in recognition and occasionally sighing in relief that you aren't him. Kick Me is a nostalgic trip for the inner geek in all of us. Não foram encontradas descrições de bibliotecas. |
