The book is about names of fish and shells. Sometimes it has the action of a fish. For example it mentions, "I is for Ink... Squid spray ink to scare away fish that attack them". And sometimes the letter has something to do with a place.

This is a nonfiction, alphabet book about the oceanic creatures. This is a good book to introduce alphabet books, as well as discuss ocean animals. ( )

The Ocean Alphabet book is great for the 2nd grade student with an interest in oceanography. The font is normal with a bold capital and lower case letter displayed atop each page. The illustrations are brightly rendered and very realistic. An ocean themed creature is selected per letter of the alphabet. Additional facts concerning the ocean habitat are included on each page. This book could be used as a quick reference.
