This is another book that takes the reader on a journey. This time we visit Italy. Italy is the home of the Roman Empire. I also learned that the Catholic church is considered an independent state and the capital is Vatican City. Italy is also home to so many wonderful old ruins, such as the Colosseum. One other ting I learned is that March 8th is International women's Day. If you want to learn all about Italy, the country and it's culture then get your hands on this wonderful book and share it with a child.

The next stop on our round the world trip is Italy. This international series is a wonderful way to teach children about cultures around the world. The answers to all of the answers a child would ask about for names, foods, games, school, places to go, history, and celebrations life in Italy are included. Because of the language, I think the words in this book are a little more difficult, but there is a 2 ½ page Pronunciation Guide with explanations for each.

Once again I highly recommend this and the entire series for young children. The are entertaining, informational with a little history included. ( )

I have read several books set in Italy lately and it has only added to my desire to travel there. I was thrilled to see Italy featured in Carole Roman's series of books focused on other countries. Each book shares about the culture, the people, families, food, and the language.

Most of the Italy book focuses on Rome since it is the capital and has many unique sites and history connected to it. Combining illustrations with actual photos of the place give the reader a better idea of what it actually looks like. The illustrations are very well done, keeping to the culture of the people.

I actually learned something in the book about International Women's Day. I had no idea it was an actual holiday in Italy. I may have to enact a day off for that in my own home this year!

I am thrilled with this informative and fun series of books for kids. The descriptions and detailed photos help kids get excited for learning about all the places that make our world so great. ( )

Although I have seen this series before, this is the first time I read one of its books. I'm glad I did it! Each book introduces the readers to a new country, and this time is Italy's turn. The narrators are from Italy, and they will tell you how it would be to leave there. Starting from where in the globe Italy is, its ancients times and its capital city, the trip includes beautiful place to visit, delicious food to try, family customs, popular sport, and a few holidays. One of my favorite things: trying Italian words!

All of this in an entertaining way, and a text ease to understand. Great non fiction option. I'm definitively interested in put more of this series' books in my kids hands.

Age range: 4 and up
