Before she was Sojourner Truth, she was known simply as Belle. Born a slave in New York sometime around 1797, she was later sold and separated from her family. This was a beautifully written autobiography written on the life of Sojourner Truth and her hardship that she had to go through and overcome. While reading this, one will be able to learn a copious amount of information about Sojourner Truth and the time period she was experiencing at the time. This is a great read to learn from and to simply enjoy as well. ( )
