The Pursuit is another Fox and O'Hare novel in which Nick and Kate save the world along with their gang of misfit geniuses. The story has a lot of adventure, very good character development and setting description. The Pursuit is a very good story and deserves the four stars that it received in this review. ( )

Nick Fox is kidnapped by a smash and grab gang, to assist in a major diamond heist. However, he is double crossed and left unconscious for the police, and even Kate O'Hare's FBI credentials cannot save him from the Belgian police, which of course requires a jailbreak so Kate and Nick can help infiltrate the gang to recover the real prize stored in the vault, a deadly smallpox virus. Of course, in order to get the gang to disclose where the real prize was stashed, an elaborate scam is required, involving the usual cast of characters. The fun shifts to the sewers and catacombs of Paris, and as always, things go awry: the hallmark of this series. ( )

Synopsis: 'Nick Fox, international con man, thief, and one of the top ten fugitives on the FBI’s most-wanted list, has been kidnapped from a beach front retreat in Hawaii. What the kidnapper doesn’t know is that Nick Fox has been secretly working for the FBI. It isn’t long before his covert partner, Special Agent Kate O’Hare, is in hot pursuit of the crook who stole her con man.
The trail leads to Belgium, France, and Italy, and pits Nick and Kate against their deadliest adversary yet: Dragan Kovic, an ex-Serbian military officer. He’s plotting a crime that will net him billions . . . and cost thousands of American lives.
Nick and Kate have to mount the most daring, risky, and audacious con they’ve ever attempted to save a major U.S. city from a catastrophe of epic proportions. Luckily they have the help of an eccentric out-of work actor, a bandit who does his best work in the sewers, and Kate’s dad, Jake. The pressure’s on for Nick and Kate to make this work—even if they have to lay their lives on the line.'
Review: This was the conclusion to a cliffhanger from the previous book. However, this book was thoroughly involved having a couple of surprises within the story line. The ending has everyone who is good escaping and those who were bad perishing. Very satisfying. ( )

Good plot, and great character development. A fun and humorous adventure! ( )

Very similar formula from the first 4 installments of this series, but that's what keeps readers coming back! Not such a great time to pick some fun, escapist fiction but then to be faced with a scam involving a potential pandemic caused by terrorism. But it was still fun to see Kate and Nick back with some of the old gang and some new, interesting cohorts, all gathering together to foil a baddie. ( )
