The first Harold Lloyd movie that I have ever watched. Prompted to check it out after reading an article about Buster Keaton & an interesting comment was made baout how Lloyd was most like all of us whereas Chaplin & Keaton were idealized versions of ourselves. After watching it I think it rings true. In a film of kinetic energy, Lloyd presents us with countless scenes of awkward situations & embarrassment. I loved this movie. One of my favorites so far this year.

A man goes to Coney Island, drives a taxi, and races a horse-drawn trolley.

It's nice, after seeing so many silent comedies set in Los Angeles, to have one shot in New York. It's novel, it's much more photogenic, and they take good advantage of it. Otherwise, it's a pretty standard and unremarkable Harold Lloyd movie. There are two unrelated stories forced together for no apparent reason, one of which has no resolution.
