Narrative nonfiction like your traditional Nicola Davies animal books, a story and a running collection of facts interspersed throughout. Well done. ( ) This book discusses how the female is the leader of the pack, even though the male is the leader in almost any other species. I think this story can be empowering for women. This shows that women can be effective leaders, especially in a society where men are the only ones viewed as effective leaders. This book was pretty good, I would read it to the children at the center perhaps once they turned 3. Basically it's about a large herd of elephants who are all kept in charge by the matriarch of their society, a.k.a.- Grandma elephant. While including real facts about elephants, the book also kind of tells a story in a way. A really good book for younger kids, and could lead to questions as in "Who's in charge at your house? Who takes care of your family? Who gives you good advice?" The elephant facts are a bonus as well. A fair read, all in all. sem resenhas | adicionar uma resenha
